Each of us is uniquely created by God; we are gifted with different talents and capabilities which make us incomparable.
Being in SFC for more than three years now, my life was graced with people who some became my friends while some are casual acquaintances. But the true beauty of serving the community is the opportunity to get a little deeper with the person that God allows to become a part of your life...and that's how Jeanette came into the picture.
Nettie as most of her friends call her is petite yet undeniably beautiful inside-out. We both completed the SFC-CCLP batch 24 in 2006, after graduation she devoted her time and talent in various CFC-SFC activities. I must say that God must have spent a little more time on her because she's blessed with a soulful voice, bouncy dance moves, award-winning acting skills and leadership.
It was only this year, when Chapter 6 was formed that me and Nettie were bonded into one household as Unit heads. The first household meeting was quite uncomfortable for me because I find her strict though she's very talkative. But the frequent gatherings and meetings paved the way for me to know a part of her soul. Her inner strength, deep faith and perseverance to overcome every life's challenges earned my respect and admiration. Nettie's love and concern for the people around her is impeccable.
She definitely has inspired my service in a meaningful way. It was my first HLT talk that worry and fear overwhelmed me; and just like an answered prayer she called up and share with me important details in giving a talk. From then on, my love and respect for this lady went overboard from a mere acquaintance into a sister that I wished to have.
I am sure that Jeanette will continue to work for God in spreading His love and graces. And as for me, I would to keep her in my heart and treasure all the moments we are to spend together.
