ONDOY: A Blessing in Disguise

As i swift fast the office hallway i overheard my indian co-workers bubbling about the high floods and people in miserable status...it took sometime before it hit me that they were scanning on the images screaming for help in Gulf News.

I haven't been home early the past few days to watch the nightly news....i was totally outdated of what's going on about the world...much more of my country...

after hearing about it...i rushed open my PC and hit the abs-cbn news site to get the latest info... and to my surprise....i was dumbstruck by the images of men and women...old and young...celebrity and casual people...paddling their way through the floods or sitted chilling on their rooftops...my heart sank and tears almost welled-out...

Typhoon Ondoy made a tremendous damage on the lives and livelihood of my fellow "kababayans". I saw women and children crying in despair for survival...despite the tear jerking images...i saw a gleam of light...there was "bayanihan", people reaching a hand for help even to those who they don't even know...there were some brave enough risking their lives to save another...and from that i know that each of those person...will be able to get through...and surpass this trial...for i too is a Filipino...as the joke says "atapang atao"(brave person)...we are blessed with this trait of courage and strength...filipinos...will never say die!

this isn't the first calamity that strucked down our country...there were the volacano eruption...typhoons who claimed more lives...but we had sought it through...because the faith and hope in our hearts...clinging unto God. We Filipinos never fail to call on God...especially in times of distress...and for that I know as we continue to pray together...united in heart and prayers...God will heed our plea...

Prayer:
Lord God,
we know that it is best for us not to understand all of these things going on but to trust on Your will...this too shall pass...just keep us all strong and bonded together as one nation...one family...Amen.

Thank you...

Dear Father God,

I can't gather enough words to praise and thank you for all your goodness which led the way for us to complete our mission in Oman.
Thank you helping all of us get through every oppression that came along our way
Thank you for the team with whom I've served with and shared the same passion in service.
Thank you for the SFC Oman participants who never failed to give a warm smile from beginning til the end of our mission.
Thank you for opening our eyes and hearts, for renewing our spirits, for making us understand that we need to be patient with your plans in our life.
Thank you for making me laugh, scream, dance, sing and cry for Your greater glory.
Thank you for every little thing that we the mission volunteers had shared which formed a huge impact to all the participants.
Thank you for calling us by our names...
Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the Oman Mission Team: ICON 2009.

Truly You're such an amazing God...continue to use me O Lord...send me and i will go...

Today's Thought

If you doubt you can accomplish something, then you can't accomplish it. You have to have confidence in your ability, and then be tough enough to follow through.

-Rosalyn Carter

Prayer:
Father God, bless us all with the confidence we require to overcome all the doubts we have inside which hinders our capabilities to achieve our goals.

Nette: Ate, pakuha naman po kami ng picture?
Ate: (hawak ang digicam) Ok...teka yung naka-green di makita...
Lahat: (nagkatinginan)...sabay tawanan
Ate: Ay! (sabay tawa), sori lahat pala kayo naka-green (correction may isang pasaway na wlang touch of green)

A true friend and gentleman that's how i could describe him.
He has this gift of capturing the attention of anyone through his words and deeds.
Though I have known him in a short period of time, every conversation shared is inspiring and worthwhile. Surely, we will miss having him around. Hope to see him serving in CFC very soon.

the last time...

the last time we had a conversation? i can no longer recall what it's all about...
the last time we laughed together? seems so many months ago..
the last time we held hands together? can't barely remember how it feels...
the last time i cried because of you? oh! it's almost a year now...

now why are you trying to come back? is this for the last time?
